Guided Snowmobiling in Käsivarsi Wilderness and to Mt. Halti
Professional Guiding for Experienced Snowmobilers
We offer guiding services for experienced, independent snowmobilers traveling in the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area or planning an ascent of Halti. Our guiding is based on strong local knowledge, route expertise, and safe travel practices in demanding Arctic tundra conditions.
All participants ride their own snowmobiles. This service is not a guided safari or riding instruction, but professional guidance intended for riders who already have sufficient experience in snowmobiling and winter wilderness travel.
Guiding is particularly useful when:
route choices require local knowledge
weather and snow conditions affect safety
traveling in areas where snowmobile access is restricted
Guided services are provided to small groups, weather permitting, during the winter and spring season.
Guiding Price to Mt. Halti
The price for guided snowmobiling to Mt. Halti is:
€ 320 / fixed fee (guide on their own snowmobile)
+ € 10 per snowmobiler
One guide can lead a maximum of 10 snowmobilers
The price includes up to 100 km / 6 hours of guiding
The price includes the guide’s services and the required trail permits for the Metsähallitus-approved maintenance track to Mt. Halti and VAT.
Additional time and extended guiding
Additional time may be offered upon request if the group wishes to extend the trip, for example due to a longer break or a detour to another permitted destination within the wilderness area.
In such cases, extended guiding is provided by quotation, based on a rate of € 50 per hour.

Important Information: Snowmobiling Regulations in Käsivarsi Wilderness
Snowmobiling in Käsivarsi Wilderness is not a public right (Everyman’s Right), and travel in the area is subject to specific regulations and permit requirements. Käsivarsi is a vast and sensitive wilderness area where snowmobiling is only allowed under clearly defined conditions.
Independent snowmobilers may use a designated snowmobile track, which requires a paid permit. This track does not lead to Mt. Halti, and it is not possible to reach the summit via this route.
The maintenance track leading to Mt. Halti is reserved for official and maintenance use, as well as guiding activities operated by companies approved by Metsähallitus. Reaching Mt. Halti by snowmobile therefore requires guidance by a Metsähallitus partner company, and the route is not accessible independently.
We are a Metsähallitus partner company, and our guiding services operate in accordance with current regulations, permit conditions, and agreed routes. The purpose of guiding is to ensure that travel takes place safely, responsibly, and with respect for the wilderness environment.
