A Long Snow Season in Kilpisjärvi

Winter in Kilpisjärvi is long, snowy and full of changing light. Our guided winter season usually begins around November 20 and continues until early May, depending on weather, snow and ice conditions.

Personally Guided Winter Experiences

We are a small local company offering personally guided experiences for private parties and small groups. Depending on the tour you choose, you can spend an evening under the northern sky, travel across frozen Lake Kilpisjärvi to the Three-Country Cairn, drive a snowmobile with personal guidance, discover village life and local history, visit a Sámi family reindeer farm or join our Tundra Experience with Ice Fishing.

Our experiences are not about rushing from one place to another. We want to give you time to enjoy the silence, ask questions and discover Kilpisjärvi through the knowledge of local guides.

Spring in the Käsivarsi Wilderness

In spring, when the days are longer, our extended excursions take you farther into the open tundra landscapes of the Käsivarsi Wilderness. You can travel toward Mt. Halti, Finland’s highest point, or join an ice fishing excursion deeper into the wilderness.
