Master the Fundamentals of Snowmobiling
Before embarking on the journey, you'll receive a comprehensive briefing from our guide, covering essential driving techniques and safety regulations. The tour commences from the lakeshore, in Kilpisjärvi village. Two people share a snowmobile, taking turns driving and riding as the passenger seated behind the driver. Alternatively, you can take turns driving solo, while the other enjoys the scenery and captures photos while seated in the guide's sled.
Navigate a Snowmobile Across Frozen Lake Kilpisjärvi to Reach the Three-Country Cairn
The tripoint lies within the wilderness, inaccessible by conventional roadways, nestled on the outskirts of the Malla Nature Reserve, which is the oldest protected natural area in Finland. You'll traverse the frozen expanse of Lake Kilpisjärvi, which is surrounded by Arctic scenery in every direction. A couple of stops will be made along the way, offering you the chance to stretch your legs, switch drivers, and relish the views.
Three Countries, Two Time Zones: Explore the Three-Country Cairn
Our journey includes a break at the border point, allowing you the freedom to explore the territories of each country without the hassle of border patrols or passport controls. As you wander around the cairn, you'll visit three countries and two time zones, all within a matter of moments! It's a truly unique experience in the heart of the wilderness.
Important Information
To operate a snowmobile, the driver must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license permitting car driving in Finland. A deposit is required to cover potential snowmobile damages.
