The tripoint lies within the wilderness, inaccessible by conventional roadways, nestled on the outskirts of the Malla Nature Reserve—the oldest protected natural area in Finland.
You'll traverse the frozen expanse of Lake Kilpisjärvi, which is surrounded by Arctic scenery in every direction. We'll make a few stops along the way, offering you the chance to stretch your legs, switch drivers, and relish the views.
Three Countries, Two Time Zones: Explore the Three-Country Cairn
Our journey includes a break at the border marker, allowing you the freedom to explore the territories of each country without the hassle of border patrols or passport controls. As you wander around the cairn, you'll visit three countries and two time zones—all within a matter of moments! It's a truly unique experience in the heart of the wilderness.
Important Information
To operate a snowmobile, the driver must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license permitting car driving in Finland. A deposit is required to cover potential snowmobile damages.
